The history of browsers can be dated far back 1990s when the first known  browser was Worldwide Web. This was the only way to access and explore the Internet during that time. This browser was manufactured by Tim Berners-Lee on a NeXT Computer while working for CERN. But now, a lot of browsers has been produced by different companies with various capabilities. Some of the modern browsers of today include Chrome, Firefox, IE, Safari etc.
Microsoft Edge is another development in the web browsing arena, it is known for its strive to make IE browsers obsolete in the nearest future. With latest developments springing up, and the Internet future evolving gradually, it is becoming unpredictable.

3. Safari 
This is another freeware browser from Apple Inc, the tech giant. Safari was released in the year 2003 and is the default browser in OS X and iOS Operating Systems and Mac computers, some versions of it is also available for Windows OS. An important feature of the browser is the Airprint and MDI-style browsing which is capable of printing the current web page. Safari browser is made popular today because of Apple products.

4. Internet Explorer 
Internet Explorer or IE is the default browser in Windows, making it the fourth most popular and used browser across the globe. As at today, the browser has new features that support the latest technologies. The bowser requires Windows license for it to be used. The browser is very fast and smooth, though it lacks certain features that is present in today’s browsers like Google chrome.

5. Opera 
Still a freeware browser, Opera web browser was released by Opera Software in 1995, it is known to be one of the oldest browsers written in C++ that is available in more than 40 languages. The browser is available for Windows, UNIX and OS X, using the Blink layout engine, Opera is known for introducing new features that other browsers adopt. It is also available as Opera mini, Opera Mobile and Opera Coast for different mobile OS.

6. Mobile Safari 
Released On January 9, 2007 Mobile Safari was introduced to the world for iPhones. It is the mobile version of the Safari web browser and has been made popular world over because of Apple just like the web version. The browser has improved with the introduction of new features with time, making it usable and secure. Mobile Safari is also known for its WebKit capabilities and compliance to the W3C standards.

7. UC Browser 
Created by the Chinese Internet company called UCWeb that was founded in the year 2004. Originally launched as J2me-only application, but today it is available for Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows Phone and Java ME.
It is the number one browser in China, India and Pakistan by the end of 2014 overtaking Chrome and Safari.

8. SRWare Iron 
Released in the year 2008, SRWare Iron is a pretty new browser compared to the other browsers like Firefox and Google Chrome. SRWare Iron is available for Windows, OS X and Linux. For those who browse and do not want to be tracked by anyone, this is the favorite browser to use, as its main purpose was to eliminate usage tracking and other privacy compromising functionality included in Google Chrome browser.

9. Android Browser 
As of 2015, Android mobiles shares more than 80% of the world mobile usage. This fact shows how popular the Android mobile browsers are. The browser is based on the Blink engine which was previously WebKit. The Blink based engines have better support for standards. Android mobile phones are dominating the mobile Operating System arena at a large extent with a high market share.

10. PhantomJS 
Not very popular to the common Internet user because it is a headless and scripted browser used for automating web pages. It was released in 2011. Organizations that use PhantomJS are Twitter, LinkedIn, Netflix and Time Warner Cable. PhantomJS has no graphical user interface, making the users seem like ghosts.
